Cross Country Yukon helps organize and facilitate xc skiing specific Coaching Courses every year. If you are interested in coaching, or becoming certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: Coaching Certification Cross Country Canada Policy – Minimum Mandatory Qualifications
Coaches must complete a coaching workshop and RCMP check in order to supervise, instruct or coach ski activities for children under 16 years of age.
If an individual assisting a group and is following behind the last skier, or helping to put on gloves and skis, they do not require minimum training…only an RCMP check.

This first step towards becoming certified is now available online! (this is new for 2018)
An individual must take both “Initiation to Coaching” module (1hr) and the “Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC)” module (4-5hrs).
After completing these two modules an individual is considered to be “a Community Coach in Training”, and is eligible to take the Community Coaching Workshop.

| COMMUNITY COACHING (CC) WORKSHOP – NOVEMBER 17, 2018 in Whitehorse|
This is a 1-day on-skis practical workshop focused on teaching you how to coach young people skiing.
Saturday Nov 17, 2018: 9 am – 6 pm (time tentative)
Location: Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club.
Bring your fun, your skis and appropriate winter clothing. Also bring food and drink for yourself.
After completing this workshop, an individual is considered to be “Community Coach Trained”.
